Semester 1 2025 Careers that Count: A Night to Remember
Our Careers that Count Networking Night marked a milestone for QUTASA—our largest networking event to date, bringing together an incredible community of students, professionals, and industry leaders.
A standout moment of the evening was our keynote speaker, Paolina Di Trapani from Pitcher Partners, who shared her inspiring career journey and powerful insights on building resilience. One story that truly resonated with us was how Paolina attended a QUTASA networking event 10 years ago—an experience that led to her very first corporate role at Pitcher Partners, where she has continued to grow her career ever since. It was a full-circle moment that highlighted the real impact of putting yourself out there.
Beyond the keynote, the room was filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, and opportunities waiting to unfold. Students had the chance to engage directly with professionals, ask questions, and gain valuable insights into the accounting industry.
Most importantly, the night reminded us that every conversation, handshake, and introduction can lead to something bigger—we all made connections that truly count.

Semester 2 2025 Accounting Trivia Night 🧠
QUTASA’s 2025 Trivia Night brought students and corporate sponsors together for a relaxed end-of-semester social at the Sync Room at The Paddo on Thursday, 16 October. Designed as a casual alternative to our formal networking events, the night focused on teamwork, conversation, and plenty of laughs as mixed teams of students and sponsors competed across four trivia themes.
With 10 questions per theme (plus some very competitive tie-breakers), the trivia spanned Accounting, Movies & TV, Music, Sports, and General Knowledge. From classic accounting pitfalls (never depreciate land) and conundrums (Goodwill impairment is a permanent difference/disallowed for tax purposes), to pop culture favourites such as Shrek, Breaking Bad, and Taylor Swift, there was something for everyone. Small prizes were awarded to the top three teams, but the real win was the energy in the room and the connections formed along the way.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the night such a success, especially our corporate sponsors for getting involved and embracing the fun. Trivia Night was the perfect way to wrap up the semester. See you all next year! ✨

​QUTASA x Vincents Accounting Workshop 2025: Insights and Inspiration for Aspiring Accountants
QUTASA recently hosted a successful Accounting Workshop in collaboration with Vincents, one of our valued sponsors. The event brought together four experienced panel speakers from diverse service lines, including audit, business advisory, forensics, and restructuring and recovery.

With an audience of engaged and curious students, the workshop focused on early career pathways and the evolving nature of the accounting profession. Attendees had the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions, gain real-world insights, and connect directly with industry professionals. 

A key message from the panel was the importance of maintaining an open mind and viewing every experience as a learning opportunity. As technological advancements continue to reshape the accounting landscape, now is an exciting time to explore the diverse and rewarding career opportunities the profession offers.

Semester 1 2025 The Diamond of the Season Networking Event
Our first networking night of the season brought together students and industry professionals for an evening filled with valuable connections, insightful conversations, and career-building opportunities.
